Kotoko fans jubilate over 0-2 defeat against WAFA

Supporters of the most successful club in the history of Ghana league, Asante Kotoko instead of pouring out their anger with the team’s 0-2 defeat against West African Football Academy (WAFA), rather commended the playing body for the loss.

The basis of the excitement on the part of Kotoko fans is from the fact that they were better at Sogakope, compared to their bitterest rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak who lost 0-5 on the same ground to the academy boys weeks ago.

Kotoko managed to hold WAFA to a goalless draw in the first half, but went to sleep in the second 45 minutes and had no antidote to the pattern of play of WAFA, as goals from Prince Obeng Ampem and Daniel Lomotey handed the hosts all the three points at stake and also propelled them to the top spot.

Kotoko fans after the defeat took to their Facebook accounts and went on radio to express their satisfaction at the results and rather threw shade at Hearts of Oak for their woeful display that led to a 0-5 defeat against WAFA.

It would be recalled that the 0-5 defeat suffered was the worst league loss for the Phobians.

"WAFA have proven that they are now better than both Hearts and Kotoko. However, when it comes to comparing our results with that of Hearts we were better, because they conceded five goals and we conceded two and most fans will be satisfied with the results," Nana Kwame Dankwa, the Chairman of the Greater Accra Supporters group of Asante Kotoko told Happy FM.

Other fans who phoned in to the programme and other Sports Shows also expressed similar feeling about the results.
