Nana Aba Anamoah, Sandra Ankobiah named as women's ambassadors

The appointment by the Sports Ministry is to increase the awareness, popularize and also raise funds for women's football with her personal brand.

Ace broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah and lawyer Sandra Akobea were endorsed as ambassadors for women football.

The duo were officially unveiled on Thursday at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra.

Minister of Youth and Sports Nii Lantey Vanderpuye told the Press: “We have not set a target for the ladies, in fact, we need more money because the more they bring in the more they get.”

“And let me say this, that anyone interested in also raising funds should come forward and my doors are always opened to such ideas.”

Anamoah alongside lawyer Sandra Ankobiah will be working in tandem to raise the profile of the national women’s teams in Ghana.

The duo is expected to get to work immediately in raising not only funds but enthusiasm ahead of the Africa Women championship to be staged in Cameroon later this year.
