Mother, daughter raped five hours by Fulani herdsmen

The two victims were on their way to church when the incident occurred.

A mother and a daughter were one Sunday ambushed and raped for five fours by nomadic herdsmen otherwise known as Fulanis in the Kwahu East district of the Eastern region.

The herdsmen allegedly chased them with a machete, got hold of them, and raped them for three and two hours respectively.

The Minister of State in charge of National Security, Bryan Acheampong revealed this while discussing the Fulani menace in the area on Accra-based Adom FM on Tuesday.

According to him, the two women have since been traumatized over the incident.

The Minister who is also the Member of Parliament for Abetifi said the rise in rape cases and other crime-related incidents in the area is affecting agricultural productivity, as many are shunning the work on their farms over fears that they will be attacked.
