Ayew excited with new striker role at Swansea

"This is the second time I've played in this position, and if I play more there then I'll get better.

Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew is happy to play in a central striker's role for Swansea City.

The 26-year-old played upfront at the Etihad stadium against Manchester City last Saturday, having normally been deployed out wide this season.

"I've played in a lot of positions, so I can adapt," Ayew told the South Wales Evening Post.

"We have intelligent players who can cope with different positions and formations, so it's not a problem for us."

He added: "It's been a difficult week with Garry's departure, because he had been at the club for so long and done so much for the club.

"We're trying to move forward and get the results we need, and hopefully we can get out of this situation."
