Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has launched a scathing attack on the economic records of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The New Patriotic Party running mate said the economy has tumbled since the NDC assumed power in 2008.
Bawumia made the criticism during the campaign launch of the Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom in the Greater Accra region, Shirley Botchway.
He said: “NDC took over the reins of power at the time when the country’s GDP growth was at 9.1%. Now the 9.1% growth has reduced to 3.6%. Where is the transformation they spoke about?”
“When they took over the cocoa output was almost a million tonnes in 2010 from about 700,000 in 2008. Now it is less than 600,000 tonnes, Where is the transformation they are talking about?” he quizzed.
Bawumia also appealed to voters to vote against the NDC since it the "only way we can get transformation is to vote for Nana Akufo Addo.”
