Timothy Fosu-Mensah has joined Crystal Palace on a season-long loan move from Manchester United.

The utility player had a successful medical on Tuesday, before completing his move that will see him feature for Crystal Palace for the 2017-18 campaign on Thursday

He made his first-team debut against Arsenal and has made a total of 21 appearances for United.

It is believed that De Boer plans on using a three-man defence at Palace this season, which would suit Fosu-Mensah well as he can play on the right of the three.

The 19-year-old joined United from Ajax in 2014 where he had played under Frank De Boer, who was appointed as Palace's new manager this summer.

Fosu-Mensah only signed a new contract at Old Trafford last October, which will tie him down to the Red Devils until June 2020, but he has been allowed to leave by Jose Mourinho to gain regular first-team football elsewhere.

Fosu-Mensah born to Ghanaian parents has played for Netherlands at the youth level, but is eligible to play for Ghana, since he has not committed his future with respect to international football at the senior national team.
