Black Stars vice-captain scores superb free-kick in Swansea win

Andre Ayew scored a stunner for Swansea City in their pre-season game against Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

The former Olympique Marseille player who joined the Welsh club at the start of last season joined his Swansea teammates in the United States of America after he was given some extra days off due to international participation for Ghana.

Ayew played his first pre-season game last week, a match which his team lost.

The Ghanaian player was handed another start in Swansea City’s pre-season game against Bristol Rovers on Saturday and the English Premier League club’s top scorer for last season opened his account for the upcoming campaign.

Andre Ayew broke the deadlock in the game after six minutes of play to put his Swansea City team in the lead.

Leroy Fer added a second seven minutes later with Stephen Kingsley and Kyle Naughton rounding up the goals in the first half as Ayew and his teammates went into the break leading by four goals to nil.

Luke James pulled one back for Briston Rovers but Swansea City restored their four-goal advantage with a Wayne Routledge goal to seal a 5-1 win.

Andre Ayew was replaced in the game after 62 minutes of game time under his belt.
