New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has described Wednesday's tragic flooding in Accra as a "major tragedy" and a "very big, big bad day" for Ghana.
Over 100 people died from a fire outbreak at a Goil filling station at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, while various communities are reporting deaths resulting from the floods that trailed hours of rainfall. It may take a while to account for the number of deaths.
Also calling the floods a "dark moment in the history of our city," he rallied all to stand together with the bereaved in this difficult times and deal later on with lost property.
