The Akufo-Addo administration has launched an investigation into Saturdays gas explosion at Atomic Junction, a statement from the Minister of Information, Mustapha Hamid, has said.

"An investigation has commenced into the cause of the explosion and shall be followed with firm action to forestall similar future recurrences," the statement said.
The statement, which was released shortly after the Vice President visited some of the victims of the gas explosion at the 37 Military Hospital and Police Hospital, put the death toll at seven.
It also said 132 people were injured but 64 of them have been treated and discharged.
The statement said "Any injured persons who may have been evacuated from the scene on their own should kindly inform the Ghana Police Hospital of their location," the statement said.
