The Graphic Sports reports that the players were dropped from camp after their test results came out with grade six.
The report suggests 25 players were presented for the MRI scan at the Quest Medical Imaging facility located at East Legon in Accra.
Seven of them, however, failed the test, forcing coach Paa Kwesi Fabin to drop them from his initial squad.
“Out of 25 players we presented, seven of them came out with grade six which is a failure,” a source close to the team said, as quoted by the Graphic Sports.
“Those who failed are very disappointed but there is nothing that can be done about it. The managers are expected to do the next scouting to look for their replacement.”
CAF’s rules stipulate that MRI test results of Under-17 players must not exceed grade five for a player to be able to participate in competitions.
Meanwhile, some of the dropped players will be recommended for the national U-20 team, the Black Satellites.
