Black Stars itinerary for Congo clash

Players are set join their national teams for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign and Ghanaian players will start their preparation on Monday in Kumasi

The Black Stars will open camping on Monday in Kumasi ahead of their crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against  Congo on Friday.

According to the Communications director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Saanie Daara, the team will start camping on Monday in Kumasi with 13 players. This time around they will not begin their training camp in Accra, before moving to Kumasi.

The time for their first training session is 3:30pm on Monday and they will train until Thursday.

The referee is expected arrive in the country on Tuesday, but the opponents of the Black Stars, the Red Devils of Congo are yet to communicate their travel itinerary to the Ghana Football Association.

Ghana will face Congo Brazzaville on Friday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi, before they travel to Brazzaville on 5th September for the return game.

“The Black Stars will start their training today at 3:30pm ahead of Friday’s World Cup qualifier against Congo," Sannie Daara tols the press.

“Unlike the previous times the squad will camp in Accra before heading for Kumasi where the match will be played. The team will be moving straight to Kumasi on Monday morning from Accra.

“11 players arrived last night, some of the players who have arrived are Lawrence Ati Zigi, Richard Ofori, Ebenezer Ofori, Christian Atsu, Daniel Amartey, Thomas Agyepong, Nicholas Opoku, Edwin Gyasi, Asamoah Gyan, John Boye, Kwadwo Poku. They will be joined by home based players Gideon Waja and Joseph Addo. So that makes it 13 players on the first day of  training.”
