GES begins probe into 'sex for fees' at Ejisuman SHS

She said the teachers have been feasting on them sexually on daily basis.

Speaking on Kumasi-based Abusua FM, she said the inability of their parents to pay fees has forced them to resort to exchanging sex for fees with their teachers.

She added that the teachers threaten to sack or fail them during exams if they refuse to satisfy their sexual pleasure.

The parents have called for the transfer of teachers in the region.

But Cassandra Ampofo, Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service (GES) said her outfit has not received any official complaint.

In an interview on Accra-based Joy FM, she said "We’ve not received any official complaint. What we relied on is what we read in the Chronicle [newspaper] yesterday, and we know that one of our students also spoke on one of the local radio stations in Kumasi. So based on that information, we questioned the Ashanti Regional Director to quickly investigate."
