"I smoke weed" - Says dancehall star

Ghanaian Dancehall artiste Samini has publicly admitted that he wants marijuana popularly known as weed to be legalized since it is a right tool to boost the Ghanaian economy.

The Dancehall and Reggae got very candid and admitted to smoking the narcotic but does so away from prying eyes. Samini is now pushing for the decriminalization of marijuana.

“I smoke weed,” the “Linda” hitmaker told Bola Ray on Starr Chat, Wednesday, August 16, 2017

The Best African Act winner at the 2006 MOBO Awards said,“I know it’s illegal. Whether I do or not… I do it in my current privacy. I don’t smoke cigarette.”

Asked if he still smokes the substance he said,“I wouldn’t say yes or no because it depends on my mood.”

However, he recalled that “I smoked weed in Seattle because it is legal there” this year.

“Ghana should decriminalize weed and give farmers the license to grow weed since it does well on our soil and allow them to export the substance.

“We can ban it for people not to smoke on the streets but a farmer with a good soil can be encouraged to package and export,” he further expressed.

It is illegal in Ghana to smoke marijuana.
