CIB Ghana inducts 156 Chartered Bankers and graduates 5 at 14th induction ceremony

The Chartered Institute of Bankers, Ghana (CIB Ghana), has welcomed 156 new Chartered Bankers and graduated five professional bankers at its 14th induction ceremony.

The event, themed 'Redefining Professionalism in Banking Through Ethics,' also marked the 60th anniversary of the institute.

Over the past four years, more than 800 Chartered Bankers have been inducted into the fraternity, aligning with CIB Ghana’s commitment to supporting the sustainability of the banking industry through robust human capital development.

The induction ceremony, held at the CIB Ghana auditorium in Accra, brought together industry professionals, experts, and distinguished guests. It showcased the dedication of individuals who completed their training to become Chartered Bankers, emphasizing the institute's core mandate.

The ceremony coincided with the institute’s 60th-anniversary celebration and set the stage for the upcoming 27th National Banking and Ethics Conference, scheduled for November 14, 2023, at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Daniel Wilson Addo, Managing Director of Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) Limited, underscored the crucial role of ethics in the banking sector, especially in the face of increasing fraud and unethical behavior. He urged bankers to adhere to 'The Bankers’ Creed,' emphasizing the timeless principles that should guide banking professionals.

Mr. Benjamin Amenumey, President of CIB Ghana, highlighted the profound connection between the banking profession and the lives of individuals and communities. He reminded the inductees of the nobility of the banking profession and the opportunity it provides to make a positive impact on the world.

Mr. Robert Dzato, CEO of the Institute, congratulated the inductees and graduands, recognizing their accomplishment in becoming Chartered Bankers. He reiterated the institute's commitment to developing trusted professionals for the financial sector and promoting ethics and professionalism in banking practices.

The Overall Best Graduating Student, Alexander Nooni, commended his colleagues for their dedication and hard work, urging them to utilize their knowledge and skills to make a positive impact.

The ceremony also recognized the outstanding performance of several students in different course fields, including awards for the Best Female Inductee, the Youngest Graduand, and the Overall Best Inductee.

The event brought together key stakeholders in the banking sector, including the President of CIB Ghana and members of the Governing Council, reflecting the industry's commitment to shaping a future of ethical and professional banking practices.
