<p>Doctors quickly identified the culprit: rhabdomyolysis, a serious condition where muscle tissue breaks down and releases proteins into the bloodstream. If untreated, it can damage organs—including the kidneys—and in severe cases can lead to cardiac complications or even death. In this instance, his leg muscles bore the brunt of the excessive strain, resulting in dangerously high levels of creatinine and urea in his system. Tests showed that his kidneys were functioning at only half their usual capacity.</p>

<p>Fortunately, hospital specialists managed to treat the acute renal failure without resorting to dialysis, although his kidney function remains below normal. He now faces a rehabilitation programme that could last anywhere from three months to a year, giving his kidneys time to recover from the shock of such intense physical stress.</p>

<p>Morning devotion is a common practice among Christians, serving as a time for prayer, worship, and reflection to begin the day with spiritual focus. Many believers consider it an essential routine that strengthens their faith, fosters discipline, and provides guidance for daily challenges. At institutions such as UPSA, morning devotion can also cultivate a sense of community among Christian students, encouraging shared faith experiences and mutual support.</p>

<p> However, UPSA is a diverse university with students from various religious backgrounds, including a significant Muslim population. While the morning devotion sessions cater to Christian students, it is important for the university to acknowledge and accommodate the spiritual needs of all faiths. <p><a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/news/president-mahama-sacks-cop-tiwaa-addo-danquah-as-eoco-boss-2025012416422470017">The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO)</a> has taken Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former Director General of the National Signal Bureau (NSB) under the National Security Council, into custody. His arrest occurred on the evening of Thursday, 19th March 2025, at Kotoka International Airport.</p>

<p>According to sources at the airport, the operation was personally supervised by EOCO’s Acting Deputy Executive Director, Raymond Archer, who was present for several hours before the arrest. While EOCO has yet to issue an official statement, reports suggest that Adu-Boahene was apprehended upon arrival on a British Airways flight from Heathrow, London, under an active arrest warrant.</p>

<p>A <a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/news/massive-fire-destroys-bush-canteen-at-university-of-ghana-legon-video-2025022700160929138">fire outbreak</a> at an unlicensed ‘Gao Gao’ fuel station in Teshie on Thursday, 20th March, caused severe damage, reducing a vehicle and several commercial shops to ashes. The fire ignited while gallons of fuel were being offloaded.</p>

<p>Bystanders recounted how efforts to douse the flames with fire extinguishers proved futile as the station’s operators struggled to use them. Fortunately, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded in time to prevent the flames from reaching the underground fuel reservoir, averting a greater catastrophe.</p>

<p>A group of heavily armed operatives from the National Security Secretariat raided the private residence of <a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/news/local/its-not-true-that-i-called-ndc-mps-hooligans-dr-ernest-addison-2024072417023706088">former Bank of Ghana (BoG) Governor, Dr Ernest Addison.</a></p>

<p>According to news sources, the operation unfolded at approximately 5 a.m. on Wednesday, 19 March, at Roman Ridge while Dr Addison was at home. Around 20 soldiers, arriving in three separate vehicles and armed with rifles, forcefully entered the premises.</p>

<p>Upon gaining access, the operatives swiftly disabled the property's CCTV system before demanding that Dr Addison lead them to all vaults concealed within the house.</p>

<p>However, the<a target="_self" class="editor-link" href="https://www.pulse.com.gh/articles/news/local/ghanaians-should-applaud-the-bank-of-ghana-for-saving-the-economy-addison-2024072414183521823"> former Governor</a> firmly refuted the existence of any such vaults or hidden cash on the premises. Despite his denial, the operatives conducted a thorough search, allegedly leaving the property in disarray.</p>

<p>When their search yielded no results, they allegedly summoned National Security drivers, who proceeded to remove four of Dr Addison’s vehicles, leaving only two behind. Additionally, they confiscated the CCTV monitor and control unit before departing.</p>
