<p>Full disclosure: I never much cared for the feline persuasion until two years ago when my sister sent me a picture of the half-pound ball of fluff who was found in a puddle and ended up in an animal shelter where she worked. Affectionately nicknamed Rocky by the shelter staff (because her two little eyes were swollen shut when they found her a la Mr. Balboa post-Apollo Creed fight), this little gal had to be mine. Rocky became Roxy, and once her high society, cigarette-smoking, french lady voice was developed, she became the cat, the myth, the legend: Roxanne. </p>

<p>Another thing I know for sure: Unlike the dowdy spinsters of yore, todays feline-loving ladiesincluding yours trulyare chic and cool.
