In your chat messages, you can star messages which helps you easily find a message when you need to. To star a message, just hold down the message and tap the star icon on the top screen. You can then get back the message in the app’s main menu anytime you wish.

This is especially useful if you have a long list of chat messages. Pinning a particular chat like you would do a tweet would take that chat message up for easy re-visiting. And if you want to let go pinning, unpinning is as easy as holding down the chat and locating the ‘Unpin’ button at the top bar.

Where you have read a message but for some reason don’t have time to reply the person, you can mark the message as ‘Unread’ by holding down the chat , going to the three dotted lines at the top right, and selecting ‘’Mark as unread’’. A green circle will appear beside the particular chat as a reminder.

For those who don’t like typing, you could employ the services of your virtual assistants - Siri, Google Assistant and Alexa to type the message for you.

For example, by uttering the command ‘’Ok Google’’, followed by the name of the person you want to message and the actual contents of the message.

If you’re expecting an important WhatsApp message from someone, set a custom notification for them by opening the chat, tapping their name at the top and hitting Custom Notifications. Cool right?

Bonus: You can avoid the blue ticks and 'Last seen' features by going into Settings &gt; Account &gt; Privacy &gt; Read Receipts. However, bear in mind that, by doing so, you’ll lose the ability to see when your own sent messages have been read.

Also, another clever way of reading your messages without triggering the blue ticks, is by enabling Airplanemode before opening your messages. - just remember to close the app before switching airplane mode off again.

According to  Nils Hammer, CEO of Saltside Technologies (the Swedish-based parent company of Efritin, cites high cost of data, poor internet penetration and adoption as well as economic woes of the country as the prevalent factors responsible for their exit from the Nigerian e-commerce market.

E-commerce companies like Jumia has had dwindling revenues due to the economic downturns faced in Nigeria and recently had to re-brand all its business portfolio units into one subsidiary - Jumia foods, Jumia Travel and so on to reduce overhead costs.

Other e-commerce businesses in Nigeria are suffering similar fate.

Mobile internet penetration in Nigeria (that is, mobile internet users at 91.5 million vs the Nigerian population estimated at 192 million) according to TwinPine mobile trends 2017 report is pegged at an average score of 47%.

Also, according to the report, Nigeria is said to be the world’s most mobilized country, mobile traffic growing from 76% to 81%, with smartphone penetration pegged at 30%.

Going by the trend report as well, the percentage of Nigerians that purchase products and services online via mobile in a week compared to other activities like visiting social networks, playing games and checking emails is as low as 3%. The report goes further to say that Nigerians don’t make a purchase or patronize a service via their personal computers, that is 0%.

Some of the reasons that have been attributed as to why Nigerians don’t make purchases on their phones include fear of buying fake items, asides delivery delays and charges.

<h1>Twitter recently announced its intention to double the number of its tweet characters from the characteristic 140 to 280.</h1>

The company in its research findings discovered that users who tweet in English, Portuguese, Spanish and French were the ones not too satisfied with the limited character count, which is not the case with Korean, Japanese and Chinese tweets whose language can convey as much as double the amount of information in one character.

“ We want every person around the world to easily express themselves on Twitter, so we're doing something new: we're going to try out a longer limit, 280 characters, in languages impacted by cramming (which is all except Japanese, Chinese, and Korean),” a Twitter  blog post wrote.

The feature is currently being tested with a small group to get feedback even though the company feels confident about its findings and the positive impact impact it would have on the users.

Nigerian pop singer Tekno has come out with the title of his first album as a recording artist.

He has titled it "Teenage Dreams" according to a video shared on social media.

Further details on the album are unknown for now.

It's been five years since Tekno released his first single 'Holiday' under the imprint K-Money Entertainment in 2012 and then going on to sign with TripleMG in 2013.

Since then it's been singles upon singles release, many turning out to be popular hits, so much that many have forgotten he doesn't even have an album out to his name. yet.

Tekno recently dropped a new single titled 'Go'. In response to a fan who regarded Tekno as still upcoming to Wizkid and Davido, the 'Yawa' singer replied with some air of confidence and humour tweeting that the world would soon know who is more international.

It's now looking like Wizkid on seeing the Tekno tweet about international ambitions has gone on to say something about it.

A Twitter user by handle @iamkach_e also waded into the matter seemingly throwing shades at Tekno.

Both Twitter users @Iamsamshegzy and @thorbylorbar also jumped in with a tweet apparently shading Davido and Tekno.

But Wizzy still goes on to claim he never beefs after all his suggestive tweets.

The two acts who are supposed to be label mates with Sony Music Entertainment are not doing a very good job at being colleagues not to talk of friends or fellow countrymen.

Fresh reports have revealed a certain $20million which Jay Z suggests he gave to Kanye West as gift on his 4:44 'Kill Jay Z' Kanye diss was actually an advance payment for his "Life Of Pablo" album costs.

TMZ sources reporting to TMZ cited that the money was given to Kanye to cover costs of production of the rapper's "Life Of Pablo" album, tour expenses and staff payments.

In a separate report TMZ sources claimed that Jay's supposed West criticism on ‘Kill Jay Z’ was in response to comments West made during a Saint Pablo Tour stop last November. "JDays later, the remainder of the tour had been canceled and West was hospitalized.

It's been earlier reported that Kanye West has allegedly left Jay Z's Tidal music streaming service.

The 'Stronger' rapper is said to be severing all ties with the music service over claimed unpaid entitlements he expects to have got from Tidal, reportedly being in the sum of $3million, including bonuses for attracting paying subscribers to Tidal upon release of his "Life Of Pablo" album .

Tidal in turn released a statement claiming that Kanye hasn't delivered the videos he is expected to be out with based on contract signed.

This fall out has led to lawyers representing both sides sending letters, with threat to sue, according to a TMZ report.

Tidal has had its fair share of criticisms from fellow industry artists and fans for its exclusivity model, management reshuffles among other issues.

Jay-Z relaunched Tidal in 2015 with a roster of other A-list artists as an artist-backed alternative to Pandora or Spotify. Tidal claims to pay more royalties and was set up as a co-ownership with Jay-Z's artist friends like Madonna and Coldplay's Chris Martin.

Superstar American Senegalese music executive and entrepreneur Akon has over the years signed a number of Nigerian artists to his label.

The 'Trouble' singer floated a label of his own - Konvict Muzik after his release of highly successful and critically acclaimed debut album "Akon" in 2004.

The singer found interest in the Nigerian music scene and got on to sign a couple talented acts to support music industry creative talent out of Africa. These Nigerian signed creatives are representatives of his label in Africa.

Here are the music creatives reportedly signed.

Wizkid - In 2011, Wizkid was reportedly signed by Akon to Konvict Muzik and justifiably so as that was the year he released his very well received debut album "Superstar" which announced him to Nigeria, Africa and the rest of the world. On Wizkid signing, Akon said "The whole concept is using Wizkid to help build a new generation of music."

However, Wizkid's management denied he was officially signed to Akon's Konvict Muzik Africa, and was only signed to Banky W's Empire Mates Entertainment.

2face Idibia - In the same vein in 2011, 2face was also announced as a signed act to Akon's Konvict Muzik Africa, which the management of the 'African queen' crooner denied but noted that there was a working relationship between Akon's Konvict/Kon Live Records and 2face.

Psquare -  Africa's finest duo Psquare have also been affiliated to be signed up to Konvict Muzik Africa The brothers worked with Akon in the remix of their hit song 'Chop my money' in 2012. Other collaborations include 'Bedroom.'

Faze - Ex-Plantashun Boiz singer and songwriter Faze also has been linked to Akon's Konvict Muzik Africa but nothing seems to have materialized to back up this claim since then.

Faze initially told Nigerian media that he had been signed by Akon, but Akon in an interview with a Nigerian TV station denied ever signing Faze.  The former Plantashun Boiz member however maintained that Akon was on to signing him revealing in a video clip where Akon and himself emerged out of a car, with Akon showering praises on him and both reaching an understanding regarding him getting a recording deal.

Apparently this never materialized. Faze formerly signed to Westside Records after the breaking off in 2004 of the R&amp;B Pop group Plantashun Boiz of which he was a member has since been riding solo, and has more or less been since flying under the radar in the Nigerian music industry.

Samklef is signed by Akon's KonLive Distribution and KES Entertainment Record Label, a joint venture partnership with KonLive, En-Treeg and Simcol Entertainment. Simon Guobadia is the chairman/CEO of Simcol Entertainment. The purpose of the partnership is to advance the careers of African and Caribbean talent.

D'banj has also been linked to Akon's Konvict Africa.  Both acts have two songs together - '<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umRkpqiDAgI" id="644667b6-c30c-5c86-8288-358a037808c4">Frosh</a>' and 'Feelings of a man'. The union started after D'banj's short lived affiliation with Kanye West's G.O.O.D music.

Davido also has been reported to have been signed to Akon's Konvict Africa.

Akon has also indicated interest in signing up Brymo.

His reason for signing up Nigerian acts lies in the fact that Nigerians speak English language unlike other African countries, and hence breaks the barrier of entry into the European and American market.

Yemi Alade is hitting the United States of America this June as part of her world tour.

She is also expected to be out with a third studio album in the third of fourth quarter of 2017.

Yemi Alade had a remarkable 2016 following her release of her sophomore album "Mama Africa: The Diary Of An African Woman".

Alade in 2016 was practically in our faces, with each turn of the internet pages, releasing music, going on African and European tours and selling out arenas.

She is currently holding the title for Best Female Act both at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2016 and Soundcity MVP Awards 2016.

Singer's "Mama Afrique" EP out now

Multi-talented producer and artist Maleek Berry at his South by South West 2017 show held much earlier in the year on March 18, 2017 at The Belmont, Austin Texas, USA., where he totally nailed it with the performance of his songs ‘Hold you down’, ‘On fire’, ‘Kontrol’ and more off his 2016 “Last Daze Of Summer” EP.

The show segment “Sounds From Africa and The Caribbean” performed in the US marked the first leg of the singer’s tour, where he got talking about starting out as a producer to now performing on stage as an artist.

Maleek speaking with NotjustokTV described the reception of his performance at the show as a really good feeling and is already getting accustomed to life as an artist and performer too but can’t tell if he prefers being a producer to an artist.

“I’m getting very used to my artist side, I feel like every musician is an artist by nature, like it’s instinctive, it’s in us” he said.

Berry also revealed American singer and songwriter Brandy is very instrumental to his music, saying he knows most of how the melodies from the singer’s album goes.

“Been listening to Brandy for a long time, she’s like the vocal bible, every Brandy album I know the melodies, that’s how I train my ears, “ Maleek further added , explaining how he always  incorporates  R&amp;B (as influenced by Brandy’s music) into his Afro-fusion element to create his sound.

The producer artist addressing rumours that he was going to be signing to an international record label said there is nothing on the cards for now, and he’s happy to just have that creative freedom for now.

About whether he is signed to Wizkid’s “Star boy” imprint, Maleek says he and Wiz in 2012  just came up with that name with the aim of promoting and taking African sound to the world, and there was no official business contract binding of that sort, rather the affiliation is purely “family driven.”

“My whole relationship with Starboy is like family, we never did things business wise, and that’s how me and wiz still are, we’re  family.“

Maleek Berry also cleared the matter on whether he is actually signed contractually to Wizkid's Starboy.
