Adisadel College, champions of 2016 of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) progressed to the quarterfinals after smashing Osei Tutu and Ola SHS by 47points.
St. Louis truncated the cycle of seeded schools booking their places in next year’s contest by crashing Kumasi High School and Armed Forces SHTS in an exciting one-eighth stage contest.
They become the first all-girls’ school from the preliminaries to qualify for the quarterfinals slated for June 28-30, 2018.

The ladies from St. Louis SHS won the contest with 43 points while their contenders Kumasi High School and Armed Forces SHTS ended the competition with 40 and 21 points respectively.
Prior to the contest, Kumasi High School was tipped to have an easy win over the other schools due to their three years’ consistency at the semifinals. However, they fell out of luck this time around as St. Louis SHS left nothing to chance to oust their regional rivals to qualify to the quarterfinals.
Sandema SHTS beat Anlo SHS and St. John’s Grammar School in the one-eighth stage of the competition.

The Upper East region based school becomes the second school from the preliminaries to eliminate a seeded school.
In the quarterfinal stage, Sandema SHTS will meet St. Louis SHS, Adisadel College and the winners of the ninth in series of the one-eighth contest which will come off later in the day.
