Boakye Yiadom scores as Red Star Belgrade beat Cologne

The Ghanaian striker scored as Red Star Belgrade edged Cologne 1-0 in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.

Richmond Boakye Yiadom continued his high-flying form at club level when he found the back of the net when his side Red Star Belgrade defeated Bundesliga outfit Cologne 1-0 on Thursday in the UEFA Europa League at Rhein Energie Stadion in Germany.

Boakye Yiadom goal was a long-range strike gave goalkeeper Timo Horn no chance to deny him of the only goal of the game

The result is a good one for Red Star Belgrade especially after they could only manage a 1-1 draw at home against Bate Borisov on match day 1 of the second most glamourous club competition in Europe.

Richmond Boakye-Yiadom's goal against Cologne is his 30th of the year 2017, becoming the first Ghanaian to achieve this feat in the calender year under consideration.

Boakye’s first goal of the year was a stunner against Hellas Verona for the erstwhile Latina Calcio in January.

But, Raphael Dwamena was the only Ghanaian player to hit 30 goals last season.
