Hosts Bethel Methodist Church also edged Avenor FC 7-6 on penalties to claim the bronze medal (third place).
The Osofo Papa of the Church, Mr. Joseph Guggisberg Saah, handed a giant trophy to the St. Mark Methodist Church, Darkuman for emerging as the overall winners of the tournament.
He also took charge of the medal presentation ceremony – the winner, runner-up and the third-placed teams received gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
Certificates of participation were also given to all the eight teams for honouring the invitation and making the tournament a success.
The Bethel Methodist Church, Kokomlemle invited four football clubs and three churches to participate in a competition, with the aim of using sports to evangelise to the footballers and the spectators alike.
Placards with short gospel messages inscribed on them were carried around by young members of the church, as they evangelised in their quest to win souls for Christ.
There was also music to entertain all patrons as the various games were ongoing, while the public address system was also used to broadcast the good news.
In addition, there was a lot to eat and drink, as well as a session for people to socialize following what was a packed day of sporting activity.
