Eight players sent home from Black Meteors camp over age cheating

The management team of the Black Meteors has sent eight members of the playing body of the team home because they failed to meet the age requirement for the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations, according to Accra based radio station Happy FM.

Head coach of the Black Meteors invited 23 players to start camping at Prampram as they prepare for their Africa U-23 Nations Cup qualifier against Togo.

However, it has been reported that eight of the 23 players failed to make the age requirement for the competition.

Below is the list of players who couldn’t to meet the age limit set for the competition.

Owusu Dacosta - Medeama SC

Joseph Esso - Hearts Of Oak

Bright Enchill - Medeama SC

Cletus Nombil - Dreams FC

Douglas Owusu-Ansah - Asante Kotoko

Toufic Mohammed - Star Madrid

Ibrahim Yaro - Medeama SC

Moro Salifu - Bechem United

The Meteors will host neighbours Togo on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, in the first leg of the first round of CAF U-23 Championship qualifier.

Out of thirty countries lined up for the qualifiers, seven will join host Egypt for next year’s championship.

The first three teams from the competition in Egypt next year will represent Africa at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020.
