History made with CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup group stage draws

It's the dawn of a new era for Africa's continental club competitions

For the first time in the history of the competition, the CAF Champions League Group stage will feature 16 teams rather than the usual eight.

The draw for the 2017 edition was held in Cairo on Wednesday, with defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns handed a tough group, paired with former champions AS Vita Club (DR Congo) and Esperance de Tunis (Tunisia). Ethiopian giants Saint George is the last team in the group.
