9 schools set to battle it out at semi-finals stage

St. Hubert Min. Sem. SHS on Saturday picked up the last slot in the semi-finals stage after securing 46 points to beat West Africa SHS and University Practice SHS who managed 42 and 44 respectively.

After a keenly contested quarter finals, 9 Senior High schools have qualified for the semi-finals stage of the 2016 National Science and Maths (NSMQ) quiz.

The following are the schools that have qualified for the semi-finals stage:

Ghana National College SHS

St.  Thomas Aquinas SHS

Mfantsipim SHS

Accra Academy SHS

Kumasi Sec Tech SHS

Adisadel College SHS

Kumasi High School

Opoku Ware SHS

St. Hubert Min. Sem. SHS

The fixtures for the contest on Monday are:

Prempeh College were winners of  the 2015 edition of the National Science and Maths (NSMQ) quiz.

The quiz, which initially involved only 32 schools now has 135 schools from all parts of Ghana participating.

The aim of the National Science & Maths Quiz is to promote the study of the sciences and mathematics, help students develop quick thinking and a probing and scientific mind about the things around them.
