Incumbent General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has taken an early lead to retain his position.

With sorting done and counting underway, Mr Nketia appears to have a chunk of the ballots in his favour as against his his rival, Koku Anyidoho, who is also his deputy.
