About 4-hour downpour in several part of the city including; Asafo, Adum, Asawase, Aboabo and Airport Roundabout once again exposed the poor drainage system in the Garden City.

Affected residents had to seek shelter in neighbours apartments, as flooding took over their houses, destroying several belongings.

At Asawase, a violent flooding was reported to have swept through a storey building putting occupants of the house under siege for several hours. Drivers and commuters were also not left out as several cars submerged in water and had to be abandoned by their owners.

At places like Airport Roundabout and Dichemso for example, commuters were compelled to alight from vehicles and resort to the services of heavily built men who were ferrying people from one end of the flood to another for a fee ranging from GHc2 to GHc5.

One person was alleged to have lost his life at Dichemso when he attempted to rescue others during the course of the rain.
