A 35-year-old man, who allegedly posed as a medical doctor and dupe patients at the Korle Bu Teaching and the Ridge hospitals in Accra has found himself in the grips of the law.
Silas Prosper Kudiabor, unemployed was arrested for posing himself as a doctor working at the Korle-Bu Teaching and the Ridge hospitals.

He pretends to secure National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) cards and dupe hundreds of patients and charges them GH¢230.
Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mrs Effia Tenge their checks at KATH later revealed that he was not a staff of the facility.
She said one of the victims had met Kudiabor at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where the victim’s brother was on admission on June 5, 2017.
According to her, on meeting the victim, Kudiabor introduced himself as a medical doctor and could assist the victim secure an NHIS card which he paid GH¢230.

She said the suspect [Kudiabor] told the police that after he had collected the money, he failed to produce the NHIS card and went into hiding.
Another victim who is a woman paid GH¢110 out of the GH¢230 to Kudiabor, with a promise to pay the rest later, after taking the money, promised to deliver the NHIS card at the Ridge Hospital but he failed to show up to give the victim the card.
Effia Tenge said, the woman after waiting for several hours went to report her case to the security personnel at the hospital and was told Kudiabor is not a staff of the Ridge hospital.
On June 9, 2017, at about 5pm, the security officers were said to have spotted the fake doctor [Kudiabor] entering the Hospital and he was arrested.
Effia Tenge added that Kudiabor confessed to the crime and pleaded for mercy after his arrest.
