Government is exploring the possibility of reducing marine gas oil to make Ghana a port of choice in terms of loading for ships in Marine gas oil, president John Mahama has said.
The move, he said, will attract more vessels into the country.
“I have also explored with the National Petroleum Authority a reduction in the price of Marine gas oil by more than 20% in order to make Ghana a port of choice in terms of loading for ships in Marine gas oil," he said.
The president also announced that another contract for the expansion of Ghana's Ports will be signed soon.
In August, the government reduced the price of aviation fuel by 25 percent.
The reduction makes Ghana the second country with the lowest price of aviation fuel in the West African Sub Region.
