From romantic milestones to everyday moments (like when they lived out everyone's Vanderpump Rules dreams at ), Chrissy and John give fans a glimpse into their dreamy life together with every post. But wait, where did their love story begin? Well, it all started one fall day...
September 14, 2006: John and Chrissy meet.
Chrissy and John's relationship began when she was cast to play Johns love interest in his music video for R&B song "Stereo." After a 12-hour shoot filled with dancing and bedroom eyes, the pair worked up an appetite-and major chemistry. Years later, during a 2014 appearance on the , Chrissy revealed that she went to say goodbye to John at his hotel, but, spoiler alert, that didnt happen.
Instead, they ate In-N-Out and hooked up. "We spent 12 hours together, so thats like 12 dates right?" Chrissy said in a 2018 interview with . They couldnt help it, they clicked so well. "Every time someone asks John for a selfie and he says, 'I never do this'," Chrissy jokingly tweeted in 2015, "I think back to the night we met when I said it, but not about selfies." (Same.)
2007: John goes on tour, and they break up... for a day.
Despite their fiery start, Chrissy and John simmered down when he went on tour in 2007. "I let him be himself for a while," Chrissy told in 2014. They talked and texted while he was on the road, and John got acquainted with Chrissys wit.
But before reaching power couple status, Chrissy and John had one blip in their budding relationship. Chrissy visited John on tour, and one day, he said he wanted to be single. Chalking it up to stress, Chrissy called his bluff. "[The break up] lasted for one day. Literally a day," she recalled in a 2016 interview with . "I knew it came from a place other than us not working." Thankfully, John came to his senses, and it was just a fluke.

After the breakup scare and texting sprees, Chrissy and John took their first couples vacay to Lake Como in 2007. The Italian destination quickly became their place, and theyve gone back many times since. Its also, btw, where they fell in love.
"A boat tour guide took us to a little spot on the lake and told us to make a wish," Chrissy during a 2016 visit. "I asked for this to be the man I marry and have children with. I think John asked for the most perfect bite of cacio e pepe. Both came true."
December 2011: John proposes during Christmas at the Maldives.
After four years of dating and tons of engagement rumors, John proposed during vacation in the Maldives-but with some added drama.
On , Chrissy said that when they exchanged Christmas gifts before the trip, she was caught off-guard because he gave her a cookbook and Crock-Pot. While she loves shiny kitchen appliances, Chrissy was hoping for something, uh, else shiny that year. The couple ended up fighting about the gifts while driving to their flight. "I remember him going, 'You just wait!' And I was like, 'Wait for what?!'" she said.
Later at the airport, security wanted to look through the bag where John had stashed the ring. Of course, Chrissy was right there. "I was like, 'Oh my God. Ive hid it so well this whole time," John said on . "'Ill have to get on my knees in the airport.'" Luckily, airport security just decided not to look in the box the ring was in, so his secret was safe.
Then, as soon as they reached the beach, the plan was back on track. John set up a romantic dinner where a waiter served Chrissy a silver dome during dessert. She found the ring in a bed of arugula. "There was no speech but yeah, I cried," Chrissy told .
June 2013: Legend dedicates song "All of Me" to Chrissy.
Talk about romantic gestures. On , John performed his hit song, "All of Me," which he penned for Chrissy. (Ever heard of it?) They filmed the music video in Lake Como-no surprise there-complete with wedding footage at the end.
"All of Me" scored John a Grammys nomination for Best Pop Solo Performance in 2014 and melted millions of hearts along the way. Three years later, the pair returned to the house where the music video was filmed to reenact it and introduce to the romantic-turned-family destination.

But wait: They nearly forgot to make their marriage official. "We are dumb and didnt realize that our Italian wedding would not be recognized unless we had a real ceremony in New York City," Chrissy said in a 2013 interview with E! News . Days before they flew to Italy, they ran to the courthouse to seal the deal.

"12 years ago today, I met the man of my dreams. And 5 years ago today, we got married... I love you and am so proud of the story weve created," Chrissy shared on Instagram. In true Chrissy and John fashion, though, thats not all she wrote. "But you are an asshole for releasing your @nbcthevoice news on my target launch day for real."

The couple who wins awards together, stays together. At least, that seems to be John and Chrissy's relationship motto. Not only did Chrissy win a Women of the Year award, but John introduced her with encouraging words on how she fits alongside powerful women. "You are our everything," Chrissy during her acceptance speech. "Weve grown together. Our familys grown together. Our careers have grown together. This is so sappy, Im sorry. I hate it." (Um, I don't...)
Now: They're still celebrating each other, their children, their love-and sharing it with the world.

The video also gave fans a little (and probs exaggerated) peek into Chrissy and John's life together. And while John's singing "can be a lot," according to his loving wife, when he's not doing his favorite thing, he's helping Chrissy with hers. Just this past Sunday, the couple cooked a drool-worthy dinner together and, of course, posted it on social media.

So while no relationship is perfect, that mac and cheese proves these two are pretty darn close.
