On Sunday, the Modern Family star posted a photo from a friend's birthday party, People reported . The photo shows her serving serious over-the-shoulder lewks in a checkered jumpsuit (pretty much the classic AW pose).

Followers began body-shaming Ariel, who turns 21 today, for her noticeably slimmer figure.
"You were fine just the way you were before not now," one user wrote. Others commented on her overall shape, adding comments like "Where are the curves?!" and "Where your booty go?"
Another quipped: "Shes just conforming to Hollywood standards-how is anyone surprised?"
Ariel appeared to ignore all the comments until one Instagram user hinted that her new physique was due to plastic surgery. "Nothing wrong with being honest and telling her we liked her better before 'the change,'" the user wrote. "She was so beautiful before she started chopping up her body and if me saying so helps one gurl out here to feel beautiful whos thinking of PS [plastic surgery] its worth it."
Ariel replied to the comment, writing, "I appreciate you wanting to help girls love themselves the way they are, but you are also kind of cutting someone (me) down which isnt what I think you were trying to do?"
She continued: "I also didnt get plastic surgery. That is also not supportive of women if youre just assuming about the way they look."

Several other fans showed their support for Ariel, sending encouraging messages like "You look beautiful. Dont listen to anyone who thinks otherwise. Do what makes you happy."
Others jumped to her defense, with one writing, "For those comparing her now, to her 'before' clearly you have ZERO clue about the human body, especially the female body."
This isn't the first time Ariel has had to fire back at body-shamers. In July 2017, internet trolls shamed her for wearing what they deemed too-small shorts ; some said she looked like she was "about to do a porn." Real nice, guys.
Ariel's response? Sweet and simple: "My shorts fit me and everything Im doing is just fine."
Couldn't agree more.
