Over the years, Broderick has appeared on various TV specials and magazines about her case, including 20/20 and The Oprah Winfrey Show. Broderick has always maintained that her ex-husband was controlling (which his family disputes ), and she said she was left to feel " helpless " during their marriage. In 2010, Broderick's first request for parole was denied because "she was totally not remorseful, didn't even try," as San Diego prosecutor Richard Sachs explained. Broderick reportedly failed to take responsibility for her actions, and she simply told the parole board that "the gun went off" as she entered the home and confronted Daniel and Linda.
Broderick was again denied parole in November 2011 and January 2017 . She will not be eligible again until January 2032, when she'll be 84 years old.
