Dr. Pimple Popper plays detective with a penny-sized white bump on the back of a mans head in a new YouTube video .
Did you have a bug bite or a pimple there beforehand? asks dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD, as she injects the area with generous squirts of a numbing agent. It could be a big milia or a big whitehead or it could a little scar.
Lee uses a scalpel to make an incision and presses down with her comedone extractor. Some familiar pale, frosting-like goo rushes out.
Aw, it is a whitehead! Lee says with glee, just a big old whitehead!
Whiteheads are small white bumps on the skins surface, the result of the clogging of a pore with sebum, dead skin cells and other dermatological debris. Dr. Pimple Poppers army of Poppaholics know them all well, and have seen a few nasty facial clusters yield beneath her comedone extractor.
Look at all that came out of there! Lee says, as she shows the patient her find. He has one grumble: The problem is my wife will be disappointed, he says. She loves to get those.
The problem is you need to nick the surface of that one, she says, or it wouldnt be able to all come out. Though it was elementary, this case required the attention of a professional.
