The above scenario has occurred in Kenya after the country’s President Uhuru Kenyatta fired Mwangi Kiunjuri from his Cabinet on Tuesday, January 14.
Kiunjuri was the Cabinet Secretary in charge of Agriculture but it appears he has not delivered to the expectations of Kenyans.
Following his sacking, a section of residents in Mwangi Kiunjuri’s hometown of Nanyuki, Laikipia county have taken to the streets to celebrate his sacking as Agriculture Cabinet Secretary, Tuko.co.ke reports.
Photos from Nanyuki show the overjoyed citizens carrying “thank you” banners as an appreciation message to President Uhuru Kenyatta for removing their countryman from office.
One Mukami Wa Embu who witnessed the event shared photos of the residents expressing appreciation to President Kenyatta.
“Hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta sacked Mwangi Kiunjuri, hundreds of Laikipia County residents gathered in Nanyuki town in support of Kenyatta's action of sending Kiunjuri home,” her post read.
As known of every fired official, Kiunjuri is reported as saying that he was relieved and would now concentrate on serving the nation in other capacities.

"I feel relieved. I am proud of my achievements. I leave with my head held high. Anyone in a journey should be ready for any eventuality, even in the wilderness God provides. To my supporters remain calm. We shall overcome," he said.
Before his sacking, Kiunjuri had asked Kenyans to share photos of any insects suspected to be locusts and share them on social media for the government to take action but some Kenyans made mockery of him.
Lately, the East African country has been battling the invasion of locusts which have destroyed a lot of farm crops.
