Principal sacked after pole dance performance at nursery school

A kindergarten principal in southern China has reportedly been sacked after welcoming students back to the first day of term with a sultry pole dancing display.

Parents attending the welcome ceremony with their young children in the southern city of Shenzhen were stunned when a pole dancer clad in black hot pants and heels began to gyrate around a steel pipe.

Rebuke

Their complaints prompted a rebuke from the education bureau of Bao’an district, which took to social media to warn other kindergartens against inappropriate behaviour.

“The District Education Bureau believes that it is not appropriate to perform pole dancing for children in kindergartens,” it pointed out.

Video

Video footage of the racy performance shows young children watching impassively as the dancer spins and falls to the floor while shaking her long hair from side to side.

Lai Rong, the principal, told the local media that her goal was to teach the children about the varieties of dance.
