The Russian Athletics Federation announced on Wednesday, February 25 the suspension of an 18 year-old race walker who tested positive to a banned substance last year October.
Evgeny Pantyushin tested positive to the banned steroid prednisolone; the ban was backdated to October 1st when the drug was found in his system.
Pantyushin is one of over 16 athletes who have been banned while training under walk coach,Viktor Chegin
Viktor Chegin is renowned for his role with the Russian Walking team, guiding three to sweeping all medals at the 2009 World Championships.
In January, Russian walkers who trained under Chegin, three of them Olympic gold medalists, received bans for doping. The head of the athletics federation resigned in response.
He is currently been investigated by the International Athletics Federation, IAAF.
