A 56-year-old man, Anthony Oguariri, is facing charges ranging from theft, burglary, unlawful damage to conspiracy at a Surulere Chief Magistrates' Court sitting in Lagos, for allegedly breaking into his sister’s apartment and stealing valuables as well as damage her property worth N45,000.
Oguariri who resides in the Orile-Iganmu area of state, according to the prosecutor Jimah Iseghede, had broken into his sister's home at No. 3, Fasina Street, Surulere, in the night of June 6, and committed the offences.
In addition to the damage to the property, the accused stole a Samsung Galaxy grand phone valued at N20, 000, jewellery valued at N10, 000 and N30, 000 cash belonging to his sister.
When the charges were read to him, the accused pleaded not guilty and the Chief Magistrate, A.F. Adeeyo, granted him accused bail in the sum of N50,000, while adjourning the case till July 21 for mention.
