Ghanaian actor John Dumelo has congratulated New Patriotic Partys presidential candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in advance.

He tweeted: "We fought a good fight...but the people have spoken. Congrats to president elect @NAkufoAddo."

John Dumelo publicly declared his support for President John Dramani Mahama in 2012. Since then, he has been campaigning for him both on and off social media.

Ghana’s 2016 elections are nearly at a climax with the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) winning an emphatic mandate to lead the country in the next four years.
