The veteran actress stressed that; she is very disappointed in actors who claim they are broke.

According to her, most of these actors are poor because they marry four to five women and that affects them since having to cater for all these women and the children they bring forth makes it difficult to save.

Maame Dokono indicated that “I feel bad for my people begging on the radio for the money. Some of them married four to five ladies and impregnate them one after the other. The children suffer when this happens. They will never be excited with you the father, but if you cater for your children, your children will also cater for you in the future.”

She explained that she now lives comfortably because her children are taking good care of her and she owns her own house so she does not have a problem when it comes to her finances.

“I have six children, four are outside Ghana. Recently, when I was my 72, one of them who is a doctor called and sent me money. Once in a while, my other children also provide me with financial support. So if you are in your youthful age, think about your future.”

“I have a very big mansion with lots of rooms, this is where I used to run my orphanage but I lost it due to politics. Aside from that, I have set up a school” she said on Happy FM.

Maame Dokono noted that not all actors are poor, stating that the likes of Lilwin and Agya Koo are not poor because they invested their money properly.

“Not all of us beg for money. Someone like Lilwin will never beg for money. Such a young guy, he has about two buildings and he has even built one for his mum. I also know that Agya Koo who used to act in Kumasi was also building a hotel” she said on Happy FM.
