The government is under intense pressure to clamp down on the activities of political vigilante groups such as Invincible Forces and Delta Force. The latter were recently involved in chaotic scenes in a courtroom in Kumasi, Ghana’s second city.

This led to the escape of its members who were standing trial for assaulting a government appointee.

The government has since been accused of failing to clamp down on these groups because they are affiliated with the governing New Patriotic Party.
