Jonathan Mensah scored a 71st minute goal for Columbus Crew in their 2-1 win over FC Dallas on Saturday.

Columbus took advantage of its best opportunity to go ahead 1-0 coming out of halftime. Higuaín was the orchestrator, slipping a pass through the FC Dallas defense a second time for Jimenez. This time, the winger’s low pass into the center of the six-yard box was finished off by Ola Kamara IN THE 50th minute

Columbus added a second goal to increase the advantage to 2-0 on a free kick played into the area by Higuaín. The dipping cross was met with a sharp header by Jonathan Mensah in the 71st minute. The defender finished high to the right side of FC Dallas goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez.

FC Dallas fought its way back into the match with Hernan Grana earning his team’s fifth corner kick. Substitute Javier Morales curled in a great pass from the flag and Walker Zimmerman rose above the pack to head a ball low into the corner to the left side of Steffen.
