Asamoah Gyan gets emotional after hitting 50-goal mark

The Black Stars skipper scored his 50 goal in international football on Sunday against Ethiopia

Asamoah Gyan almost broke into tears when asked of the 50-goal milestone he reached after scoring against Ethiopia on Sunday.

Ghana walloped Ethiopia 5-0 in the opening 2019 Africa Nations Cup (AFCON) on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Asamoah Gyan the skipper of the team scored the match opener to hit a milestone of 50 goals in international football on the evening.

And he got emotional when asked if he sees himself as an African legend.

“The numbers say it by itself, so I don’t have to say everybody knows it. What else can I say, I am getting emotional right now,” he said.

Gyan is Ghana's all-time top scorer  and also African greatest scorer in the FIFA World Cup with six goals.
