If the Independent Examination Body of the Ghana Law School (GLS) agrees to remark the scripts of the failed students, they would have to pay GH₵ 3,000 for the remarking per each script they may not be satisfied with.
This was contained in a press statement issued by the Students Representative Council (SRC) of the GLS and signed by its secretary Abena O. Asare-Boye.
Their statement follows the revelation that 81% of the students failed their final examination organised by the school.

Results made available by the school’s examination body indicate that only 91 students passed all ten courses of the examinations with about 170 students being referred in one or two courses and about 295 students failing three or more causes thereby repeating the course.
The students have called for a remarking but are also unwilling to pay the huge amount as remarking fee.
“We reject, outright, the remarking fee of GHS 3000 per script, as same is unconscionable, unreasonable and absurd. Students cannot simply afford it. We shall, therefore, petition the GLC for the reduction of the remarking fee from GHS 3000 to GHS 500 per script,” the statement said.
The students who have been agitating since the release of the results by the Independent Examination Board (IEB) have declared Wednesday, February 21 as a Red Day to register the displeasure to the public.

They have also asked the GLC to appoint another body to remark their examinations because they suspect the IEB has been unfair to them.
“In line with the rules of natural justice that a man cannot be a judge in his own court, the IEB cannot be in charge of the remarking of the scripts concerned.”
“We cannot trust that the IEB will be candid enough to expose their own flaws. We are therefore calling on the GLC to appoint credible independent and professional examiners to mark all failed scripts again,” the statement added.
