Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have urged President Mahama to begin the process of naming a running mate for the 2016 election before the close of the year.
According the executive an early naming together with their manifesto will help the party put into full motion their campaign to retain power at the beginning of 2016.
The call comes on the back of an overwhelming endorsement of President Mahama as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2016 election by members of the NDC over the weekend.
Some of the names making rounds include current Vice president Kwesi Amissah Arthur, Trade minister Ekow Spio Gabrah and Foreign Affairs minister Hannah Tetteh.
General Secretary of the NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketia addressing a press conference on the aftermath of the party’s presidential and parliamentary elections on Saturday said the party is hoping to finish all processes with outdooring all their candidates by the end of the year.
