A 60-year-old man has reportedly set a house ablaze at Kwesikrom in the Ahanta West District in the Western region.
The suspect, named Samuel Amoah allegedly took poison to end his life after the act.
According to reports by the Ghana News Agency, a quarrel ensued between the couple and turned bad with the husband allegedly burning the belongings of the family.
According to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Olivia Adieu, Western Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), the wife of Amoah returned home from a funeral late which resulted in a misunderstanding between her and the husband.

She said the suspect issued death threat to his wife and the children.
Olivia Adieu added that whiles the wife of the suspect was asleep with her children, she [woman] was awakened by some residents who detected that one of their rooms was on fire where she had kept her personal belonging.
She said they had the misunderstanding at about 10:30 p.m.
She added that efforts to extinguish the fire proved futile with the woman's belongings and that of the children valued at GH¢ 1,200.00 got burnt.
The PRO said a complaint was lodged to the police who moved to the scene only to find the suspect Samuel Amoah unconscious.
She noted that the suspect was rushed to the Dixcove Government Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.
