A swift intervention by the Ashanti region Police has averted a near bloody clash between the Abudu and Andani Royal families at Alabar, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region.
Accra-based Starr Fm reported that the incident occurred between the two rival groups Thursday morning over the management of a lorry station at Alabar.
There are other reports that the Abudus, who belong to the NPP are seeking to take total control over the station because their party is in power.
However, the Andanis who belong to the opposition National Democratic Congress are not willing to give in to the takeover.

The two blocs have reportedly armored themselves by inviting their members from the North to give them spiritual backing in the struggle over the management of the Alabar lorry station.
When contacted, Ashanti regional Police Commander DCOP Ken Yeboah confirmed the incident and assured that efforts were being made to restore sanity in the area.
