Real Madrid beat Barcelona 5-1 on aggregate to win champion of champions

The Los Blancos earned home and away wins over Barcelona after they defeated their bitterest rivals 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabeau.

Real Madrid defeated Barcelona 2-0 to win the Spanish Super Cup 5-1 on aggregate at the Santiago Bernabeau on Wednesday.

Marco Asensio scored a stunner to open the scoring before Karim Benzema scored the second, with both goals coming in the first half.

After the interval both sides created opportunities, but none of teams managed to put the ball at the back of the net.

Real Madrid won the first leg of the Super Cup 1-3 at Camp Nou last week Sunday, so they have won the trophy 5-1 on aggregate.
