It has come to light that 40-year-old Alan Hawe
According to thesun.co.uk, the deputy school principal used knives, a hatchet and his bare hands to murder his teacher wife, Clodagh and children Liam, Niall and Ryan before he killed himself on August 29 last year; at their home near Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan.

At an inquest hearing, it was disclosed that the man was worried that his image in society would nosedive if the scandal became public.
It also came to light at the Cavan Coroner’s Court that Alan had told his psychotherapist that “People think of me as a pillar of the community. If only they knew.”
Alan Hawe is reported to have developed the habit and got so addicted to it that, not even the services of psychotherapists could help rehabilitate him, a situation which affected his relationship with the wife.

The bereaved family is reported to have said that, “We are aware that he was concerned at his imminent fall from that position and the breakdown of his marriage.”Details about the very school at which the deceased was the deputy principal have not been made public, ostensibly for the sake of the judicial proceedings and the school’s reputation.
