First Lady Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo has raised nearly GHC8 billion for a new maternity block to be built at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH). The total cost of the project is GHC10 million.

The event was done in partnership with the Multi Media Group that first aired the documentary.

It was dubbed “Save a Child, Save a Mother.”

In a Facebook post, the first lady thanked Ghanaians for their support in launching the project as well as their financial contributions.

“To all individuals, churches and companies, your generous pledged support in kind and in cash are very much appreciated. Thank you Seth Kwame Boateng and Multi Media for bringing this to light and putting the event together on such short notice. Together we can provide much needed support and assistance to new mothers with babies in intensive care,” she said.
