The assault victim was admitted to the psychiatric department at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital where she is undergoing treatment.
A close family source told Accra-based radio station, Citi Fm that she was admitted on Thursday, 16th March 2017 after her situation worsened when she returned from court.
Ms Boakye was also said to have been receiving treatment at the same facility for her post stress and trauma disorder before she was admitted.
A lawyer for the victim, Francis Xavier Sosu has revealed that he plans to file a civil suit against the owners of Marwako Fast Food after the culprit, Jihad Chabaan was granted bail by an Accra Magistrate court on Thursday. He also noted that the suit and other actions will be under the instruction of Evelyn and her family.

Earlier this month, news broke out that Mr Jihad Chabaan, a Lebanese supervisor at the Abelemkpe branch of Marwako Fast Foods was alleged to have dipped the face of Evelyn Boakye in blended pepper causing outrage amongst Ghanaians. Mr Chabaan has since been charged with assault and was suspended by the owners of the Fast food chain.
