An 18-year-old student, Isaac Tetteh has been remanded into Police custody by an Accra Circuit for allegedly defiling a three-year-old girl at Madina, Accra.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement when he made an appearance before the court presided over by Mrs. Jane Harriet Akweley Quaye.
He is however expected to re-appear on September 28 for further proceedings.
Detective, Chief Inspector Kofi Atimbire in prosecuting told the court that, the complainant is a contractor residing at Madina with his family including the victim.

He said Isaac Tetteh also lives in the same vicinity with the complainant. The accused and his siblings came to play with the victim and her siblings due to the good relationship between the two families.
The prosecution said on September 4, this year, at about 08:30 hours, the accused came to the complainant’s house and pretended to be playing with the victim and her other siblings as usual.
According him, Isaac Tetteh took the victim to his house where he inserted his finger into her vagina.
Tetteh subsequently sent the victim to her parents, but unfortunately for him, the victim started crying and pointing to her vagina.

Inspector Atimbire added that the complainant became curious and decided to examine the victim. She then saw semen in the victim’s vagina.
The complainant confronted Tetteh and reported the incident to the Police, and a medical form was issued to the complainant so the victim could be medically examined.
In his caution statement when Tetteh was later arrested by the police, he admitted the offence.
