The NPP MP aspirant for the constituency, Nii Lante Bannerman has since accused the Member of Parliament for the Odododiodoo constituency, Nii Lante Vanderpuije of physically assaulting him.
He alleges that Vanderpuije accosted and attacked him at his residence in James Town on Wednesday morning following the Tuesday clashes.
“The MP attacked me this morning, physically… in the full glare of everybody this morning at James town. He came out of his car, I was sitting in my car, then he just punched me. I was in the car, I was defenseless. He crossed us with is car and got down, he punched me twice. There were more than 20 of his personal security guys,” he told Accra-based Citi FM.
The MP and Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lante Vanderpuije, has however not confirmed or denied attacking the New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary candidate.
He, however, maintains that he will fight hard for his supporters who he argues are often attacked by the NPP.
